cd sunday - Going round in circles

... & that is what I have been doing all this week, hence my very late entry, for the CD Sunday challenge.

So this will also be a quick post;

For this card I used MCS Pretty in Porcelain CD, Everyday & Contemporary Floral section.  The images on this CD are to make very pretty plates - but I have just gone for  topper style.

I layered the square image onto a deep purple paper, then printed 2 more images & cut out the circular fame of one on its outer line & placed that on foam pads & from the second image I cut the central panel on its inner edge & raised that on foam pads too.

With a piece of the background paper I die cut one of those roll around (circle) flowers & placed a gem in the centre.  Adding the ribbon & bow completed the card.

Must dash to post this on the CD Sunday site.  Do pop over there & see how others interpreted this challenge.  Back soon.

Just chatting

Hi everyone
This morning I popped into the CD Sunday Challenge blog to see what our challenge was this week & found that my entry a couple of weeks ago for the theme "Simply Red" had been chosen for the top 3, not only that had been placed first.  I get a little surprise as well.

You can see the card that won - here.

That is all I have to talk about today - having a little blow of my own trumpet - hope you don't mind!

Right, time to see what I can make for this weeks challenge, which is "Going round in circles". Hmm! that one is going to be interesting.

'Bye for now - thank you for stopping by.

using a spare image

Hi everyone - just popping in to show you a second card I made with the elegant lady in this weeks CD Sunday challenge.  It's not for the challenge I just thought seeing as I had printed extra images I should set to & use them, otherwise they get put in a box or drawer for use later & get forgotten. There is no time like the present.

It is quite similar to the challenge card - different colour & I changed the elements.

I am wanting to have a play with flowers over the next few days, as I have several flower dies - some with matching stamps.  This flower was made from some white paper flowers that I have had for quite a long time which came with matching stamps.  They were by a company called Orinoco - I don't think they are around anymore.  Anyway I used my Promarkers on these rather than try & stamp them - apart from which I  didn't have the right blue in an ink pad.

Thank you for looking - please call again.
'Bye for now.

CD Sunday - Simply Red

Good evening -  & it is time for another CD Sunday Challenge - where the theme this weekend is "Simply Red".

I had to do quite a bit of searching for this one, as I new I wouldn't be able to print out anything with too much red in it.  It is also very difficult to get reds to match.  Anyway I found what I wanted to use in - My Craft Studio CD - "Festive Disco Follies" & used the NSR (No Stamp Required) section.

Here is my card - "Lady in Red";

The scalloped edge card does look a little orangey here but it is red & my Poppy Promarker was virtually identical.  The elegant lady is called Dorial & her companion is Cordelia.  I coloured with Promarkers & to the small images added glitter around the hat & a little on the pom pom too.  For the elegant lady I stamped her twice onto white card & coloured both of the images. Then from one I cut out the top layer of the dress including the wrap, remembering to remove the little triangle at her bent arm, & placed it on sticky pads over the other image.  I trimmed the various elements with some scalloped edge scissors to mimic the card.  The main image also has glitter on the wrap & the brim of her hat.  Before attaching the images I wrapped some white satin ribbon down the left-hand edge & added red flat backed pearls.

Thank you for stopping by my little blog I hope you will call again.  I am off now to link my card to the challenge blog.  Do go & take a look at what everyone does - there are always the most fantastic cards to look at & gain  inspiration from.

CD Sunday - Easter Parade

Hello everyone - well here I am again with my entry for the CD Sunday Challenge which this week is Easter Parade.

The papers & embellishments are from a Serif Craft Artist Digi kit CD called April Morning by Peppermint Creative.

I changed the colour of the papers in CA from a strange green colour to more of a creamy yellow, & added the flourish & two Easter Eggs on the plain paper.  On a separate piece of card I printed two more of the large eggs & reduced the size & printed 3 smaller ones plus the April tag & the Easter Tag.

After cutting out the tags & the eggs I covered them with Glossy Accents leaving them to dry overnight. This morning I cut them out.  I layered the plain paper onto the stripe paper leaving a shallow opening on the left hand side.  I then wrapped the ribbon around the papers (it was just ideal for this card as it has a yellow flower with a lilac border).These were then adhered to the base card.  The three small eggs were popped into the shallow pocket & the two larger eggs were adhered over the printed ones with sticky pads, as well the two tags.

Thank you for visiting my blog & please call back again.  Why not pop over to CD Sunday and see what others are creating - just click on the name at the start of this post.

'Bye for now.
